I thought this one might be tallish. The renderings seemed to suggest it.

They posted the site plan today. The elevations are on page 26.

ftp://ftp.ci.austin.tx.us/ATD_AULCC/...tial_PLANS.pdf

471 feet 9 inches to the top of the mechanical penthouse
450 feet 9 inches to the main roof.
431 feet 9 inches to the 35th floor (highest occupied floor).
107 feet 9 inches to the parking podium.

The elevations also show "removable metal clad fiberglass planter boxes" for the wall cladding on the parking garage. So I guess they are planning to keep the greenery.

Also the section with the "stilts" the tower will sit on ends at 143 feet 9 inches above the street, so that's a neat design feature that is going to be fairly visible from the southwest since there's nothing blocking the view of this tower from that side.

Your link does not seem to be working. Where did you obtain this info/page? Sackman filed their formal submittal less than a month ago (April 27) - it is still in review. And, in a letter to the city dated March 23, 2015, Nick Brown (Project manager for Bury) notes that the elevations are on sheet 29 & 30?!?

Works for me. Here's the master link. Scroll down and click on 2015, then click on link number 528. From there click on "plans". That shows the individual links.

ftp://ftp.ci.austin.tx.us/ATD_AULCC/

Someone posted the link to this page sometime last year.

At least this one is closer to 500 than to 400, like so many of our recent 400 range boxes.

Plus it will be very prominent in the SE corner of the skyline. Too bad the angle won't throw shade on the MACC.

I think this is correct, because you can see the seeds beginning to sprout if you look at the rendering under a magnifying glass.

Please, don't try to do this, just trust me. There are seeds. And now would be an appropriate time to use this little guy:

This being 71 feet taller than the average new building in Austin will make it stick out quite a bit. Good to know the ceiling isn't stuck at 400 ft for all new construction. Also good to have more height on the east side to complement the Austonian and the eventual Waller Park Place...and if only the Fairmont stuck with the older rendering...

Funny tidbit - when I type in "Austonian" it always wants to autocorrect to "Austrian"...

All said, I'm excited about this one. MACC can take joy in a nicer building going in as their neighbor rather than some ugly Communist block thing going up there.

I never really expected this one to happen. The renderings were always slightly too amateur hour.

Wasn't the deal on the "pocket park" beside this location just reached in the last few weeks?
Or am I thinking of another project?

Yeah, the design was not very memorable. I'm not a fan of "if building A and building B had a baby" process that developers are using. It's like déjà vu nightmare. I feel bad because I'm friends with some of the local folks working on this....apparently the developer is like 12 lives in NYC.

Bummer. I actually really like the design of this one. I'd take it over several others any day.

Their two Austin projects have both been met with opposition - especially the one on Burnet Rd. Maybe they just felt it wasn't worth the effort - if the rumor is true.

I thought this was like the Manchester's...where daddy (the boss) lives in another town and the son moved his family to Austin to run his first major development?!?

I'm pretty sure that is the case with Sackman.

Ahealy - out of curiosity...what are the reasons you are hearing that this project isn't going to happen? They are spending a hell of a lot of marketing money on it already.

Did some looking back. So the deal was made June 24th to allow that "park" to be used for construction..... that's pretty recent dealings to be considering to walk.
But then again..... they walked away from discussions before. Felt odd.
I say if they are gonna flake.... do it now!
