I have just a teensy little update for y'all. The first tower-top sign has been installed on the west-facing facade. It is very visible from Lady Bird Lake and the Congress Avenue Bridge. It's definitely stands out against the black

Wow, if those windows next to the "HOTEL" sign are for room (as opposed to a hallway), I wouldn't be able to sleep at night. So bright. Looks cool, I guess, but I wouldn't like to have those rooms if that's what they are.
Cool photo. It reminds me of a scene from some movie from the 60s or 70s. Just the look of it, the graininess and of the classic "hotel" sign suggests it comes from a different era.
