I agree with this. Atlanta needs the extra focus to expand its cohesion. O4W, particularly North Ave and Ponce can carry a lot of that between Midtown and tj the east, especially as we are seeing more proposals along Parkway and Boulevard.

It would help if we had a transit line that ran along North Avenue across the city from west to East.

Bring on North Ave BRT! Unfortunately, the state (GDOT) owns North Ave west of the station. That said, the city has been in talks with the state to potentially relinquish some state owned routes. No idea which streets, but would expect white BRT is proposed and/or commuter buses travel. I doubt it happens, but it would remove obstacles for construction and maintenance.

I get what you are saying and I agree. Some people are focused on the Varsity and BP, but I think you are speaking specifically to the buildings across the street like Goodfella's. Some of the most interesting and engaging neighborhoods in Atlanta are dominated by those type of buildings - notably Little Five Points, Virginia-Highland, Cabbagetown, West End, Castleberry, etc.

Those historical storefronts are not going anywhere, and the developers know it.

BRT expansion and other transit proposals...I wonder what effect these enhanced Covid mutations (already at least 10 variants have been observed of varying infection rate and potency) will necessitate physical distancing of bus and transit riders?

I was over there yesterday and took some pictures of the transformed plaza across the street. This is going to make W.P'tree so much nicer.... and if the North Ave TOD happens.... yowza!

I wonder what building those timbers came out of? Nice way to build up some stacked seating

Nice I use to use North Ave station everyday when I was going to the office. Going to be great to have some conveniences right next to the station.

By the time I’m taking transit to North Ave station again, the area is going to look and feel completely different. Hoping we see progress for North Ave TOD, too. Think that vote is coming up soon.

It would be such a shame if it doesn't move forward.
