Lethbridge is the Fargo ND of Canada. Literally. Some of this season's run of that show was filmed in and around the city...with Fort MacLeod standing in as Luvern MN.

So, Canada's Hamilton, Hamilton, Hamilton, Hamilton, Hamilton, Hamilton, or etc. ?

Also, are we discussing Hamilton Ontario or Hamilton Ontario?

Hey, Hamilton has one of the hottest housing markets in the country. Everyone wants to move here. Homes will soon climb to 1m each... and so will the population - ya know, since there's no housing bubble I'm told.

To the moon!

Do we want to be like America or NOT like America?

Maybe Hamilton has it's own identity.

pretty much what I was going to say. Hamilton has a very urban core with a ton of history that Surrey can't compete with.

And Breukelen is Amsterdam's Brooklyn -- it's even also located to the southeast of the City...

But houses are already well over $1m in Vancouver. Does that mean Hamilton is Canada's Vancouver?

Yes, except it doesn't feel like you're living in China over here.

Saint Boniface is Manitoba's Brooklyn. They should move the Islanders there.

That said, I also don't see Hamilton as being Brooklyn. It's way too far away from Toronto.

I guess Kensington is Calgary's Brooklyn

Hamilton as Canada's Newark is a way more apt comparison on various levels. But somehow I don't think we'll be hearing the Chamber of Commerce trumpet that label.

But I'll play. In terms of urban fabric, history and cultural scene Montreal is more like Brooklyn. Hamilton? Not really.

Funny thing: Brooklyn is bigger than Montreal. It's even bigger than Toronto! (city proper stats, people). In fact, Brooklyn blows away any other city in Canada in so many fields, that a comparison with Hamilton is downright silly.
No, Toronto proper (2.8 million) is more populous than Brooklyn (2.6 million).

Hamilton is too far away from Toronto to be that. Kitsilano is more like Brooklyn.
