Looks like flights AM 2686/2687 are loaded starting with 3x weekly in November with E90 equipment...still no announcement from what I could tell.

This is good news for travelers returning rental cars who have to top off their gas tanks or pay the insane premium for not doing so. Its a pain in the ass at Newark or LaGuardia.

An important take away from the KXAN story is that a trans-Pacific flight is actively being pursued. At least that's how I interpreted the statement by the airport spokesperson when he made mention of an increasing demand for one.

There is probably a route in the works already but it may not be announced until the east terminal expansion is either completed or nearing completion.

It is my understanding that "they" have been working on it for a few years. It takes quite a long time to initiate international (especially trans-oceanic) routes.

I believe demand has been there for Asian and Latin/South American routes. However, those requesting these routes are becoming louder.

As expected, British Airways returned to using a 787-9 on July 31 for flights 190 and 191.

I've seen both being used after they said they would use the 777 from March and beyond. Both aircraft aren't that much different in terms of size anyways. Might depend on cargo..

If anyone knew...it would have been posted already. Austin1971 has been a great source and since he has been silent as of late regarding new international carriers, I do not think there is any "new" news on that front.

However, he did, a few weeks back, make note that WOW (of Iceland) might have been poking it's nose around.

I would expect new announcements to happen over the coming years - as we get closer to the completion of the east concourse expansion.

Just keep checking back.

I went back to August 1st and worked my way forward to the present and it looks like no one has posted the June traffic statistics which were released August 5.

June 2016 Passenger, Cargo traffic at Austin-Bergstrom

Total passenger traffic for June 2016 was 1,135,796 up 4%* compared to June 2015. ... Total passenger traffic for January – June YTD was 6,024,502, up 8%*, compared to January – June 2015.

* Press release always rounds the percentage differences up or down to the nearest whole number, but the Aviation Activity Report does not rounded the percentage differences up or down and is always the true accurate number.

June traffic was actually up 4.35% (rather than 4% as stated in the press release) and Y-T-D traffic was actually up 7.71% (rather than 8% as stated in the press release.)

Hmm. I guess the press release didn't break out Condor's numbers, but if you go to the other report (the pdf file one) scroll down to page 14 and it breaks out all the airlines. In June they are showing 902 total Condor passengers.

So if they flew into Austin twice in June, that would be a total of four flights - 2 inbound and 2 outbound. The average comes out to 225.5 passengers per flight.
