Nice shots. Jimby, your shots have a decidedly darker tint to them of late. Did you change cameras/lenses?

Is it jut me, or does Keystone's location in relationship to Bromley Square seem physically impossible from this angle?

Thanks! Same old camera and lenses, maybe it is because I'm doing different post-processing than I used to (iPhoto and sometimes Aperture). Last night the shutter was doing the funky chicken and staying open on bulb when I didn't want it to because I didn't have a tripod with me to keep the camera steady for longer exposures.

I think I know where I'll be for the Lilac Fest - far above the madding crowd!

I never noticed that, but you're right. I think the brain assumes the shadow on Keynote is from Bromley Square, which in turn, makes it look like Keystone is behind Bromley Square.

A couple of shot of the skyline from my favorite angle, the southwest.

For some reason the pano stitch didn't quite work properly, so I'm going to re-shoot this again later, but for now, just ignore some of the inconsistencies.

Check out the density of Calgary's skyline from this angle.

A broader view from the same location. How many buildings are new to this skyline in the last ten years? I count 28, including the ones u/c

It is fantastic Reg! It is from Nexen, Wooster. You can tell because the camera is looking from slightly west of 7th St.

Thanks guys, yeah it was from Nexen. Most of my "in the core" aerial shots are from there.

I just found this old Panorama I took from my Balcony when I lived on the 25th floor of Bromley. March 5, 2007. Lots has changed since then, would love to get back up there and have another look.

Here is a picture of the view from my girlfriends 7th floor balcony taken about March 5, this year.

Sorry for the quality, point and shoot mixed with a lack of photography skills. lol I have a huge version of both, but I think they were bigger than photobucket would allow me to post.

Two pretty similar shots above. Both excellent. I like EAP's contribution to the southern perspective of the downtown. It adds a nice light colour and shiny newness, which I like.

Those are wonderful. I love how downtown from the east and west is now elongated, putting the Calgary tower in the middle of the skyline, rather than the edge. That effect will only get much more pronounced as the Beltline builds up.
