That blank wall is unfortunate on such a prominent tower on the waterfront. Totally understood given the challenging structural requirements of a building so thin, but aesthetically unfortunate, nonetheless.

It has less to do with the tower's skinniness than it does the fact that 80 South Street will eventually (hopefully) block it. It was designed with that in mind.





Until then, it is rendered being covered by glass. Speaking of glass, I hope they get to it soon. This tower has had enough problems delaying it.

Probably because it is very old. Pre-2008 crisis. Fortunately, SHoP was last reported to be designing the tower and they rarely disappoint with their hometown designs.

Yes, that old rendering is from the famous Calatrava design for 80 South Street. The most we have of SHoP's design (at least one of them) is this model that dwarfs 1 Seaport.
