DENVER | Alexan Uptown | 149 FT | 12 Stories

Information from DenverInfill (3/7/2014)

Quote:
Trammell Crow Residential‘s Alexan Uptown project is a 12-story, 372-unit apartment community that will include 440 parking spaces located on one below-grade level and four above-grade levels. Residential units will wrap the structured parking along the 20th and Logan sides. Alexan Uptown will replace a full half block of ugly surface parking—a condition that has plagued the Uptown district for decades. Fortunately, thanks to nearby projects such as Uptown Square, Tower on the Park, Uptown Apartments, Grant Park and, most recently, One City Block, that condition is changing. Uptown is steadily transforming into a dense, vibrant, mixed-use neighborhood and this new Alexan Uptown development will substantially contribute to Uptown’s evolution.

Construction scheduled to start in December per DBJ article:

12-story apartment building coming to uptown Denver

Quote:
Trammell Crow Residential will develop a 12-story apartment tower at the corner of 19th and Logan streets in Denver's Uptown neighborhood.

Dallas-based Trammell Crow Residential will build 372 units on the site. The complex will be called Alexan Uptown.

Alexan Uptown will be constructed on a 1.25-acre parcel from 1915 to 1985 Logan Street, sold to Trammell Crow Residential by Atlanta-based Apartment Realty Advisors.

"TCR is thrilled to close on the parcel at 19th and Logan enabling us to break ground on our 372-unit, 12-story apartment tower," said Matthew Schildt, managing director of development at Trammell Crow Residential. "The tower will boast panoramic views of the Denver city skyline and front range. This is going to be a special project."

The project will break ground in December and is scheduled for completion near the end of 2016.

It seems that this site has actually broken ground, per the TCR site below

http://tcr.com/new_development/alexan-uptown/

DATE CONSTRUCTION
STARTED
Dec '14

I also believe that December 16th was the date the ground broke (although can't find that particular link which stated that) and since the 16th has now passed, and the word STARTED in the past tense is used...... well..... I would guess that this means that this project has started......

Also, as posted by a subcontractor

http://glheng.com/projects-under-development/

they also have this listed as under development
(third entry up from bottom of page)

Also, the area had been completely fenced off as of about a couple of weeks ago, and a fellow poster here who in another thread posted that driving by within the last day or so.... it looked like definite construction activity was happening......

So...... another huge, ugly, eyesore of a surface parking lot bites the dust....... YEA!

with concrete being poured already for foundation and cranes up and moving

and then from

Once completed the Alexan Uptown project (above) at Logan and 19th Avenue will feature 372 apartments units in a 12-story building. Work is now taking place on the parking structure upon which the apartment units will reside.
(caption above is immediately under the sixth image down in the article - and this image is of the Alexan Uptown that is taken on 5/6/15)

Time to move the Alexan Uptown Denver into the "Highrise Construction" thread maybe?

Thank you
