Even more excitingly, it's one we don't know of yet, not 31 W57th, Schvo or the Wanda tower. I wonder if he knows when we get the final design of 225 W57th, assuming such a thing even exists yet.

Good ole' RobertWalpole. Was he suspended again? I hope not because he provides useful information. Why was he banned on SSP?

I would also like to point out that Robert Walpole said that Extell would start on a project near Times Square. I can't find his original post because he may have been suspended recently but the comment can still be seen because other members quoted what he said.

Edit: Sorry I'm not sure if this the right thread to put this info. Maybe the city compilation thread?

We already know about this one.

Extell may be planning a supertall on 8th Ave. on land they bought from Boston Properties (Boston Properties was planning a major office tower until the recession hit, then sold land to Extell, which has assembled a huge amount of air rights and there are rumors of a hotel/condo supertall).

Since when? I'm not familiar about Boston Properties intentions with this site prior April 2013.

I thought there was 1.5 million square feet of rights. Would that be on par to the new office building on 55th street? Also to be honest I would prefer rentals over another hotel and expensive secondary/third homes.

I might also point out that yimby talked to recent architect about a near supertall project in the Upper East Side.

Quote:
Lastly, I hear there may be a supertall you are designing on the Upper East Side?

That is going to be a very innovative building — it’s going to be exciting.

And it’s going to be around 1,000 feet tall, yes?

Around.

SHOP architects, in an article on their tower at 107 W.57, have announced they have "at least two" more supertalls under development in NYC, so we should get some more good news soon.

NYC is just getting started. We got 5 supertalls and 10 skyscrapers where construction is imminent. Great times are ahead of us.

^^^

And the Western Yards still hasn't been revealed. I wonder how many supertalls that will yield.

Also, hopefully WTC3 will kick off soon. Further adding to the supertall UC list.

My guess: 3WTC starts rising when 432 PA tops out.
