Agreed...

Plus.... the art they would have brought to town would have been amazing.
Do you recall that they actully had a sales office at the corner of 6th and congress
It was, for it's brief moment, one of the best galleries. in town.
Sigh.
Alas. THey were not really smart about thier $$. But were amazing collectors and hosts. (Bourdon moey from Louisville) They have returned to their original model of renovations and smaller properties.
They do that well!

I missed this post earlier - an actual Fairmont related post in this thread. I know Manchester is having money troubles. But it's going to take a long time to excavate the underground parking levels with a Bobcat.

I have no idea why the quote didn't capitalize wwmiv's post. In the past, the forum had been set so that people couldn't post a one word post. It was a measure to avoid meaningless posts or snarky comments in arguments. We eventually did away with that, but if you try to post in all caps, it won't let you and it automatically makes your post lower case. I'm not sure why it would do it for proper capitalization, though.

If the bobcat is still on the lot at all, it's hidden from where you can see through the open gate cause it was empty looking when I drove by Saturday night. Could be it's just by the wall along Cezar Chavez so it wouldn't be visible.

Seems odd that they don't close up the enterance.

I didn't see it there this morning either.

It's officially October now, and consider this project dead. Unless they got financing available in which I doubt.

Just a hunch, but I'm suddenly feeling optimistic about this project. My guess is that it won't reach the heights we once hoped for (thanks I.B.C. '12...), but the overall programming will likely stay the same.

WTF? Construction starting soon? December 1st according to these filings from today for street closures and lane shifts on Cesar Chavez, Red River and Sabine. I hesitate, but

LOL: notice that the city mistyped in the decrip as "Freemont Hotel" even though they correctly referenced the project name as "Fairmont Hotel".

I think this one still has life.
