^ Looks awesome. I hope 1-7 Yonge St becomes a reality.

Any updates on 156 Front yet?

Update on Ten York:

It should be clearer by the end of May how sales of projects launched so far this year are doing, but early indications are that first-time buyers are looking again, especially in the 416 region, says Jim Ritchie, vice-president of Tridel, which hopes to start construction on its Ten York project by the end of 2013 and has sold 620 of the building's 694 units.

Forum member, SP!RE, at Urban Toronto has reported that some kind of excavation is taking place at 45 Bay. Could be soil testing.

Must be. We'll know about it long before they start doing anything tangible on that site.

Not to be a total downer but given the amount of new office product coming online in the next few years and the current tenants looking for large block space this one wont be going ahead for 5 years or so.

To be honest, I don't care if it takes 10 or 15 years. As long as it's tall and well-designed, I'm happy.

As much as I'd like to have every lot in this area filled in, there's also something nice about having a couple of empty lots left over. They hold the promise of potential.

Agree. Cities look better when they have architectural layering. Who knows what design trends emerge over the next 10 years. I'd rather have some diversity in design than have it all developed all at once.

This needs to be built as is! It is a fantastic looking proposal that will add wonderfully to Toronto. I love it.

I like the proposed skyscraper for 88 Scott Street. That tower has a visually interesting combination of modernist glass and older style masonry worked into its facade.

Excellent news re Massey Tower. Another 200+m tower to go up in Toronto is welcome by me! I particularly liked the look of Massey, so am glad to hear it's got approval.

Bodes well for the adjacent 2 Queen development as well.

Yup, the downtown core seems to be slowly, but very strongly, expanding north. Just a few years ago the north side of the core fell off abruptly after First Canadian Place and Scotia Plaza, then Bay Adelaide West and Trump pushed it just a block north. Now Bay Adelaide East, INDX and Ernst & Yonge Tower are adding another layer of tall towers directly on the north side of the core. Soon Massey Tower, 2 Queen West and Yonge + Rich will expand it even more dramatically.

I think we're going to see big development along Dundas East during the next boom. Lots of empty space around there, all within a short distance of Yonge & Dundas Square, Ryerson, the Eaton Centre, the subway and the Jarvis Expressway.

I think it's the logical next step, bridging the gap between the College skyline and the main core.

Someone from UrbanToronto got a letter from the developer for 88 Scott acknowledging that there was an unanticipated delay, but stating that demolition will begin within the next few weeks.
