So far, it's an average building, but it undoubtedly has an impact on that part of the skyline. I'm going to wait until the top part with the sign is complete. I'm not sure how it will turn out - it may completely enhance the building and it may make it look like crap.

From today. Phone picture so not the best quality. Definitely fills that gap nicely.

Harry, JMT, Kngkyle, Bvic if you're taking requests, there's an opportunity for a sweet shot here. Zooming in on the hotel rooftop deck, with the Aon, Aqua and the Sheridan in the background. Layers.

This may have been posted before, but the rental portion now has a website:

www.revelchicago.com

The sidewalk barricade advertises the website, and also suggests that occupancy won't begin until this winter. If this were an ordinary rental building, they would probably begin move-ins before the end of summer, but maybe because the apartments are supposed to enjoy hotel services, they won't be offered until the hotel is open (currently announced as early 2015) or nearly open.

In addition to failing to understand the difference between "complement" and "compliment", the people who put the website together are incorrectly referring to the tower's residential address as "340 Water Street". Or is there some secret plan by the City to change the names of both South Water Street and North Water Street before the year is over?

The correct address, 340 East North Water Street, or 340 Upper East North Water Street, is admittedly a bit of a mess. Other residences built on this street so far have all been condominiums, I think; this will be the first time a rental tower has to be marketed with, and transient residents have to put up with, such an address. It may really be time to change this street's name to avoid taxicab, food delivery, and other screwups for the rest of eternity, even if they're only occasional. (Okay, the Sheraton Chicago seems to have survived a couple decades with the goofy street reference, but presumably guests there also run into confusion occasionally.)

I love to label shots from "Lower East South Water", but what happened to 435 N Park ?

435 N Park is the address of the hotel; presumably the residential entrance is on Upper East North Water. However, the building's developers may very well pursue a simple "Water Street" address through a process similar to the vanity addresses sometimes used for buildings that are not quite on Michigan Avenue.
