This ad for this property in West Austin kept popping up on Facebook, so I finally clicked on it since the skyline photo is gorgeous. Here's the link for the photo gallery, plus the video they posted. Also, if you look through all the photos there's one that shows the 2nd Barton Creek Resort hotel tower topped out off in the distance.

WOW....and to think there are buildings hiding in there....looking for you Frost Bank....i see your little crown...

It's said too often, but this town is completely unrecognizable from when I moved here in '87...and coming from Corpus, I thought this was a big city.

It's too bad Frost isn't another 10-12+ floors.

I really hope we get a taller version of frost someday. I want to see a classic revival type tower here that's at least 800 ft.

If you get board and haven't seen this thread before, go to page 6 of the main thread listing and check out a thread I created called what if. You'll find some Frost modifications on it by me and wwmiv along with a few pages of other modified pictures. Kevin or someone might be able to repost them here...I don't know how. I just checked out that thread for the first time in years...there's still some fun and interesting ideas on it.

Great photos! Now that the stacked box building is complete, it looks very forgettable. There are plenty of other buildings in Austin that catch my eye before the city's tallest does.

Agreed. I know the crown gets a lot of hate, but it is well deserved and bothers me more every time I see it. Independent was a strong vision hampered by cheap execution.

I rode my bike down to Blues on the Green tonight and laid in the grass and took in the view. That's not such a bad view of it. Sometimes the Jenga thing bugs me a bit, but that angle hides it. The crown up there sort of had a WTC thing going on with the red lights making it look all serious. I wish they'd hurry up and screw in the lightbulbs.

Hopefully once the big players go up in this area - 6xguad and Republic, possibly whatever replaces the state garage and perhaps Hobby, the Independent will fade into the background as infill

By the way, I was noticing last night at the concert that the Block 185 Tower is going to block the view of the Austonian from Zilker Park, and likewise, The Austonian will have a blocked view of the park. Maybe only the top couple of floors might still have a view of it since the Block 185 Tower curves back.

Also from that view, 6 X Guadalupe is mostly going to be behind the other row of buildings affected by that view corridor. It's taller so it'll stand out, but it's going to be behind Spring, The Bowie, and The Monarch. There's a pretty good view of 300 West Sixth from there, and it'll be to the left of it, but it's in that row of buildings, so there won't be a wide open view of it quite in the way there is of The independent from the park. The Republic will stand out a bit, it'll be obscured somewhat by the Green Water towers. The one I'm thinking will stand out a lot is the Travis Phase II, assuming it gets built, but from some views, the trees will block it in the park. 70 Rainey shows up through the trees, so maybe The Travis will show up better.

My iPhone 6 is showing it's age. Zoomed in junk quality from last night. Great show!
