Australian S & M

This past spring I had a chance to visit Australia for the first time. The highlights were its two largest cities, Sydney and Melbourne. I enjoyed both and would love to go back. Enjoy.

SYDNEY

MELBOURNE

Superb catches.

So a Canadian visits Australia, any feeling shock or anything new?

I've been to Toronto, Vancouver as well as Sydney, Melbourne, if I adventure a guess, I would say wow sunshine beautiful sunshine even Canada shares the same sun, wow beaches decent beaches even Canada has sandy coasts too, yeah more multiple choices of leisure and pleasure even Canada is freewill enough...and em...what else...warmer, slower pace I suppose, tend to see more animals and insects at home as companies...

Don't be upset but I love Sydney much more than Toronto. And Melborne and Vancouver end in a draw. But Canada doesn't have any place like Brisbane-Gold Coast metro area.

Irrelevant anecdote alert!

I've recently gotten back into SimCity 4, and you can download a lovely representation of the Palais Theater in Melbourne to place in your city. Did you happen to see it? Judging from its size in the game when you plop it down, it appears to be massive... And it always makes an appearance in my cities' cultural and theater districts.

Australia and Canada are more similar than different. Canada seems like it’s more influenced by the states. Winters are probably quite better in Australia. The aussies definitely enjoy better coffee. Toronto definitely has the most impressive skyline of the bunch. Sydney and Vancouver are definitely very scenic. And Melbourne has an impressive array of classic architecture. Alleyways are better utilized in the Australian cities. All of them beautiful in their own right.

That theatre is in St Kilda, a suburb of Melbourne. I went there to check out the beach one evening but didn’t have a chance to see that theatre. I spent most of my time downtown.
