Haha well some of my shots of Inglewood were partly cloudy!
It's been overcast this week, and cold as shit as I'm sure you know
But not the kinda weather to be out taking pics in. I took all those on Monday when it was a really wicked nice day.

Also, recalling lots of threads from the early 2000's, Calgary REALLY seems to have intensified and have found itself lately. It looks very alive and happening.

I'm glad you did too! Ever since I got back from my trip to Ontario, I've been in constant picture-taking mode
It has intensified quite well actually. The downtown is busy into the late evening on weekdays now, rather than just the former 9 - 5 dynamic it had, and there are a lot of initiatives to make things even better. By 2020, we are likely to have a population in excess of 50 000 in the downtown area. I've noticed a difference in the liveliness of the city just since I moved here 2.5 years ago. Thousands of people have moved downtown in the past ten years or so, with more projects proposed/UC than ever before. It still has a long way to go, but it's not bad for a city of 1.4 million.

Is there a big mix of people moving in to the urban core infill developments? Great bike bath as well with the sunsetting its gorgeous

Thanks Mello. Calgary's Chinatown is the 4th largest in Canada, while our Chinese-born population is 3rd largest. Yeah, I think they go out to sell on nicer weekday mornings... those photos were taken on a Tuesday morning. I didn't buy anything from them unfortunately, I was already late to work taking pics
My coworker didn't mind though haha.
Calgary's a very optimistic city. Many outside the city find the attitude to be cocky or boastful, which it can be of course. To answer your question, yes, Calgary has one of the lowest unemployment rates among major cities on the continent. Young people move from across the country to work here... my partner and I are transplants as well, actually. The majority of our friends here come from our home province (Ontario) too, but we met them out here.
The mix between urban intensification and suburban sprawl is about 33% intensification and 67% greenfield. With the type of population growth we're seeing (~40 000/ year) that is a pretty good dynamic.
Edit: sorry if that sounds overly boastful. Just trying to answer your questions.
