Greater Moncton's third Starbuck's (at the Lounsbury's Centre) is finally open.

The plan at Hastings Ridge has obviously changed due to Mr Lube being built on the lot. Now the last unit of phase 1 has been leased by D&M SportsCards...I hope they still are planning to build the middle building, it would really finish the look.

If you look carefully at the brickwork being applied to the Mr Lube location, you will see that it matches the facade of the existing plaza at Hastings Ridge. They are maintaining the same theme.

I am hopeful that the second retail strip at the back end of the lot will still be built.

Also, they are starting to erect the walls for the Harvey's at the corner of Trinity and Mountain. The building looks really small! It's hard to imagine there would be much of a dining area.....

They ran the water and sewer to the back of the lot so they wouldnt have to dig up the parking lot in the future so im sure the building is in the works. Last time I looked you could actually see the water line sticking out of the ground.

Good observation. Yes, I'm quite sure that the second plaza at Hastings Ridge is still in the works. With all the new strip mall development in the northwest end however, it might be a few years before we see any activity.

I was unsure about the wisdom of putting a Mister Lube as part of the development, but in retrospect I don't think it's such a bad idea and I'm glad that they are using the same style for this building as for the existing retail strip.

Budyser has previously mentioned Pappa John's Pizza as one of the tenants for Plaza 1909.

We now know another of the tenants. There is a sign up on the extreme west end of the plaza announcing a new Pita Pit location.

The plaza will hold 10 tenants (as well as a standalone pad). I doubt that they would have started construction until the development was at least half leased. It will be interesting to see who else will be announcing in the near future.

FYI there will be at least 2 locations of the Pita Pit opening in the GMA. 1909 mountain rd is one of them, the other(s) are yet to be announced but it will be a minimum of 2.

Pita Pit is the first place I eat when I go to Fredericton. I'm extremely pleased to hear that they're moving here. I'm not saying they've achieved food perfection, but they're on the right track.

I see the Pita Zone in the Champlain Place food court is being renovated. Coincidence?

My husband and I are also very excited about the Pita Pit news. When we visit Halifax, we always make a stop at the one on Argyle. Excellent news for Moncton North.

The "for sale" sign in front of the former Golden Eagle restaurant on Mountain Road has been gone for some time. There appears to be some interior work going on at present.

They have officially named the new francophone k-8 school Currently under construction on Ryan St.

The school will be named Ecole la Sommet in honour of the Francophonie Summit that was held in Moncton in the 1990's.

Not to nitpick but it's likely called "Le sommet".

"sommet" is a masculin word

Just sayin'

Ha. Don't get me started. That aspect of the language is an absurdity.

Even for native speakers, it can sometimes be hard to remember the gender of some very rarely used words.
