Interesting note; Detroit is currently the largest city in America with LED street lights. It gives the city a blue-green tint that stands out compared to the still orange glow of the suburbs and some of the larger industrial areas/parking lots.

The garage in the bottom middle of the next picture is slated for 775' but may ultimately be capped around 740' by the FAA. Still a huge win for downtown.

The yellow-topped construction all the way to the right in this last picture is going to be the new second tallest building, barely edging the Prudential next door.

we need to find some better high-rez, recent aerial photos of DC.

the federal triangle shots really don't do the city justice.

For some reason, its difficult. Possibly the air restrictions around the region play a role, but DC is tricky. There's a few good ones out there, but they tend to be older ones.
