This turned out better than the renderings in person. Whats the current height (estimate)?

Nordstrom is still in the womb. Once it hits puberty it will be like a prodigy child saying F u to an adult with a phd, I will be king soon enough. Which is crazy because if we think this is dominating now.... "o my" like George Takei says.

I was in New York for the first time in almost 10 years last week, and this building was literally the first glimpse of Manhattan that I had from the taxi ride from JFK. It is an incredible addition to the skyline, and it is stunning to see in person.

I had dinner a couple of blocks away one evening (at Aquavit-- great place if you're in the mood for fancy Scandinavian cuisine) and I spent a good long while at the base of this just staring upwards. I had my doubts about the "boring" design in all of the renderings, but it really works in person.

1396 ft means 426m, not 432. To correct the title, please.

I agree with that. I've said before, while One57 is tall, 432 Park is the first tower to challenge the ESB (and even the WTC) for skyline dominance. It will be followed by a parade of others, but this is the first that changes the rules.

It has that surprise effect on it I'm sure.

I think it really does! The height is what changes things. 432 Park is going to belittle some of the one time major towers in the skyline. It's really an impressive feat despite the tower not breaking any real records. Nordstrom tower will be even pronounced when its finished.
