I wonder how much the weather for the rest of the week will slow them down? I am assuming it would have to at least have some impact. It's supposed to be better by the beginning of next week though, so pretty temporary.

It has to be pretty damn cold to stop work in Toronto. New York is not even close cold-wise.

It's in the 20's (Degrees Fahrenheit) or around -5 Degrees Celsius in Central Park... It won't stop work though. In fact, it'll give the city a refresher for probably a long, hot summer ahead. Although north of the city it's 10 to 20 degrees Fahrenheit cooler. Like you said, it should hit 50 by next week!

Long live NYC!

This is the only design we've seen.

A short office tower similar to the massing model below was supposed to be built, before plans changed to a residential building.

Thanks for bringing this up.
No problem it's common sense. You could've brought it up too.

There was a proposal for an office building on that site many years ago, but I'm not aware of any serious previous plans for that site. They never revealed an architect or did any marketing to get a tenant, or at least not publicly.

We could have gotten two very tall residentials, though. Macklowe initially filed plans for a very tall hotel/residential tower at 510 Madison Ave, a few blocks to the south. He filed permits, had approved plans, and everything. Then, he changed his mind and decided to go with the current shorter, bulkier office building at 510 Madison that was built maybe 4-5 years ago.

So I'm happy we're getting 432 Park, but I would be even happier with two very tall towers in East Midtown. Hopefully Macklowe won't disappoint and will build a supertall at his third site on West 57th between 5th & 6th Ave.

That was when this tower was a Harry Macklowe development. He's since sold the site to CIM, although he remains on as an "advisor". CIM has only proposed a residential tower for the site.

Just noticed the same thing, also someone mentioned on another forum the color will change dramatically as it dries so do not take this for the final look it will lighten up substantially.

Newbie question, but is the facade being pre-cast and hoisted up on the tower?

I predict next year around this time, this tower will be already the tallest building in Midtown.
