And she should indeed ‘go pound sand’.

I don't love this building, but the reasons given here are just uninformed. This building is shorter than a building two blocks away, so it's not increasing the height in the immediate surroundings. The Rand Building is an urban classic designed to be part of a city street scape, not to be viewed from far away. Go to any block in Manhattan and look around for an example. (Check out The Red House: https://www.google.com/maps/place/35...!4d-73.9800874) The Robt E Lee Hotel is nothing special to look at and it's named after um... Robert E. Lee. If she had valid reasons to give such as creating a shadow on an existing landmark that was designed to catch sunlight or something, I'd listen. But her reasons are lame.

I really don't get it. It's literally across the street from the Weston Center, which is taller? Like what?

Yeah, that's kinda bonkers. Haters gonna hate. Do we have a massing render of what this will look like from a distance?

I'll post this again. It's very rough and I now realize the building should be slightly to the left of where I stuck it, but you get the idea.

p.s. - Why is my not showing the image?

Ahh yess. Thanks, Jack. That's gonna be lovely when it's all said and done.

What is this talk about a "green light"?

Because your link needs to end in either .jpg or .png.

Also, I think you undersized the height of the building. It’ll definitely be taller than Frost and look it.

I don't agree with her -- at all -- but she is the leader of the San Antonio Conservation Society which is probably the NIMBYist group in San Antonio. I like a lot of their work and I'm even a paying member but I only really support the preservation side, not their views on new construction. If she didn't say something the rest of the members would have been ticked off, so not surprised at the comments at all.

I'd say some time next year when they go for final approval. This one is on a fast track it seems.

I grabbed some large versions of the renderings we've seen of it.

I say it in Austin and I'll say it in SA: now if we can get a 600ft + pointy tower

Happy new year, y'all <3
