Just to add some context, a lot of times these rents aren't that much more expensive than what people pay for dorm living when you compared to a per bed and monthly rate. For example, to live in a 2 bed / 2 bath shared scenario in University Commons its $5,725 for a semester. That basically means mid-August to mid-December which equates to 4 months or ~$1,430 / month. While slightly cheaper than the studio or 1 bedrooms, it is more expensive than the per bed rate of a 2 bedroom and the non-dorm student housing comes w/ nicer finishes, amenities, and you don't have to deal with the campus calendar or rules.
