That is where the corners meet. The roof.
Sweet! I was thinking of the rendering that Carlos did about a month or so back (illustrating how close it was to T/O) then Otie posted a diagram... We had all agreed there was about 100 feet until the corners met, but I'm not sure what floor it was at the time.

Sooooo close now!!

So, these columns are for the 104 floor?
They are really small?
Also since when was there a 105 floor?

These are columns for floor 104. There was always a floor 105.

Regardless of whether we built here or not. The Battle was won on May 1, 2011.
The spire does not determine whether we win a battle. It's the fact that we rebuild. Although it will take some time, when towers 2 and 3 stand with One and Four. We will have a beautiful safe enviroment filled with architecture beauty.
No site is perfect,
We're talking about two different things. You're talking about the general wtc site going up, I'm talking about the design of the building. We lost the battle with Durst ruining the design of 1wtc, I think everyone can agree with that. The only winner there is Durst.

Durst didn't ruin the the design.
Most of the changes they did, with the exception of the spire was for the better of the building.

All the changes, the spire notwithstanding were for the better. This design is much better than, Leibeskind's original nightmare. The one he thought he was going to kill birds with by letting them fly into windmills and fan propellers.

Agreed. I wish I could be excited about 1 WTC reaching this achievement but the fact that this is another step closer to that dumb crappy antenna getting erected has ruined it for me. I guess there's hope. The radome was originally supposed to be installed after the antenna structure was erected in the way the glass windows are installed after a steel floor is prepared. This means anything this summer could change the PA and Durst's mind to implement the radome again or another different material for the spire.

Yeah the battle was won, when the vermin, bin laden was summarily, and appropriately executed, and sprayed with bullets, and other good ammo, and sent to where he belongs. Sorry Michael Moore, you don't give a fair trial to a mass murderer, in the midst of a war. If not for fighting back, it no doubt would have been another holocaust. Then what would all the naysayers blame it on?

^^ I love Vin's shots from this angle; really captures how massive this tower is.

If the Goldman Sachs Tower were 200 feet taller, then this would really compliment One World Trade Center as the skyline redefines itself.

Please people, this is a forum about the construction of 1WTC, not a political forum.

Beautiful shot! I need some sort of guide to tell me the names of these buildings. For example what is the strange modern temple-ish looking building just to the left of the American International building? And is that yellow and black building a residential tower?
