One final thing

One thing I wish I'd done is taken the time to have centered that "notch" on the East side of the the building facing I-5 (5th pic down). Even better would have been to expand it out a little to line up with the vertical mullions. As it is right now, it looks sort of randomly placed. Which it was. Sorry.

I wish I could get my hands around the necks of the people who decided on gray glass for that building.

819 Pine Renderings here: http://noisetank.com/hugeasscity/200...review-review/

What's interesting to note in this one is the 0.6 parking ratio that seems to ignore the immediate access to the Express Lanes. Not pointing fingers, but a certain city whose name rhymes with "Boston" that isn't Boston would give something like this a 1.2 parking ratio.

I hope this one goes forward.

Relatively tall... Some of these guys should create merged companies and build less projects but truly taller ones in the 45-55 floor range.

Take the beige off, replace it with a yellow or green and we're ready to go! This is the retail core after all, you want people to see your building when they pass by and think, "Wow, I like it, I can't afford it but if I could I'd live in it." Not pass and go mehh...

Looks to be a gold-type color, actually. Reminds me of Eureka in Melbourne.

Only, it's about 40% the height.

I've never been to Seattle but I love the space needle. Frasier was kinda funny too, even though he used a lot of big words that I didn't know.

Nice shots SL.

Does anyone have copies of the pictures someone posted with the Escala model in relation to the Westin towers?

Well, it's united as one single block of offices and residential tied to the city and county offices; the waterfall element of city hall will spread into the water elements of the civic square development. City offices will occupy part of the new tower and it will be made into a living room-esque space for Seattle residents to enjoy, connected to light rail directly via the DSTT a la Pioneer Courthouse Square in Portland.

Looks better than before. Reminds me more of the O8 facade more than the Metropolitan Park now. I just wish they would change the color, the top, something to actually make it more original. And I imagined the plaza having more green than what the pictures show. I like the base, just work on the top a little more.

I really like how they're accounting for the building's interaction with the public and street at the base, but above that, it's just not very inspiring. I agree the facade looks a bit less like Metropolitan Park, and more translucent like the panels on O8.

The top will be lighted at night and a little more translucent. The sides will include a gradient/frit pattern that will break up the appearance to be a more oscillating sort of grey-blue.
