The glass really does look great, and I like the vertical lines. They remind me of the way the old WTC appeared when viewed at just the right angle. I also like how the glare/reflection from the clouds pretty much matches exactly the same shade of the grey panels. The only thing is I wish is that there had been a few more glass rows in the garage levels to break up the block of the garage panels. I know that probably wasn't doable, I guess, but it's the only thing I don't like about that section of the building. I don't even mind the color. At least it's not blue, and I don't think it had been done before in Austin.

The lighting is pretty bright. Here it is at midnight last night.

I suspect we're in for some more lighting. The renderings had hinted that there would be lights there, and elsewhere.

The renderings also hinted at glass all the way down the parking garage.

I wouldn't be surprised if they VE'd the lighting too

I walked past this at night last night, I must say those lights are REALLY bright. They completely light up the whole area. So it makes me wonder if residents at the Independent will complain...

It could save on the electric bill for folks in the Independent. Just get black-out curtains and open them when you want to turn the light on.

If I had an east-facing apartment at the Independent I'd be livid. There's no need for the lighting to be that bright to create a good visual.

The lights aren't nearly as bright as the webcams show, at least not from Cesar Chavez.
They look very nice either way. Can't look for them to get all the way up and on the sides.

Usually these type of lights are on full bright mode during testing and install. I am sure they are adjustable.

Saw the lights on the republic park side of Third + Shoal earlier this week looked really nice in a way the pictures don't capture. With ZaZa, The Republic and everything in the Greenwater area Republic Square Park will have a great view. Now just to get rid of that parking structure!

This and the Proper both look far shorter from the library side. You can see the height a lot better from the back. Also, that lighting looks great.

Looks like there's some gaps that aren't lit. Those will probably be fixed soon enough.
