When it's that fucking cold, you can't fault people for wanting to be indoors. At least the parking is in garages rather than just surface lots...

Halifax looks nice... bigger than I thought. There doesn't seem to be a lot of suburban development. I suppose a dense downtown is nice to have in that climate as well (who wants to walk more than a few blocks in February).

Here is an aerial shot of the sinkhole that was formed 2 days ago after Guatemala was hit by tropical storm Agatha
my mother happens to be from this country so I end up visiting Guatemala once a year and to see what is happening over there now with news that over 100 deaths, it is just terrible to see Guatemala at it's low point
