Fair and Balanced Arkansas

I know Ive had my share of controversial Arkansas threads on here but this one is an unbiased look at most of the state. I will be updating this thread a lot as I find more photos Ive taken over the years of the state. It will be both photos of the best and worst Arkansas has to offer and I think that these following photos show a fair portrayal of what the state is. This will most likely be my last Arkansas thread since Ill be moving soon.

View from Petit Jean Mountain State Park

Russellville

The beautifully preserved town of Van Buren

This isnt Arkansas, but close enough, its Shreveport and I had no where else to post this photo so Ill post it here. I bribed some cleaning lady to let me into a casino hotel room so I could take a photo of downtown.

Many more photos will be coming soon, I have to dig through my old computer to find them though.

And this, sir, is a classy thread. No place is all beauty or blight. Being able to show the good and the bad of any place, whether you love it or hate it, is a sign of maturity, depth, and -- yes -- class. Thank you.

Nice pictures. Arkansas doesn't seem too bad, although much of it clearly isn't thriving and prospering. Some of the country grit pictures are pretty cool.

Yes, its a pretty state but it gets incredibly boring living here, believe me.

Definitely an interesting array of shots, many of which are quite compelling. I particularly like the shot of the cooling tower. Great work.

Taken somewhere up in the Boston Mountains

These are the Ouachita Mountains in central Arkansas.

Fort Smith National Historic Site, this was the western frontier back in the 1800s. Right across from this fort was the Oklahoma Territory. The fort was also a major staging area for the Trail of Tears.

Van Buren is one of Arkansas oldest towns and is located across the Arkansas River from Ft. Smith. It has been around since the late 1820s and is in my opinion one of the most charming small towns in the state.
