I hope so! That is a huge detriment to the urban fabric of 200 S.

Slowly but surely 200 S is turning into the premier street it should be.

Good news! Right now that east-facing side of the block is certainly a big hole in the neighborhood. Filling that in would be a huge improvement.

I was wondering about this pic by Stayinginformed below. Any news about the Greek Community progress on their development? Given everything happening around it I can't imagine it will be long before construction begins on the site. The development of 300 West can't happen fast enough for me. What a vapid corridor that has been. I can't wait to see its progress five to ten years from now.

I'm loving all these tower cranes. I didn't realize how prominent the two on the west side would be. The two on State street are still obscured by the surrounding infrastructure.

I can't wait to see what the skyline looks like after these projects gain height and the CCH crane goes up.
The nice thing is that all these projects are still in their early stages so we have some time to appreciate them.

...it isn’t replacing all of west high’s fields east of 300W is it?? Both of the pictures posted are kind of uninformative.

But there is no clickable link.

Dixon Place

I'm going to assume wendell block is nothing until something substantial is posted about it.

Dixon Place is going up fast.

Gets me hopeful for Lowe's other projects. The Sugar Alley building permit application is still under review but there has been activity on it recently (end of May). Hopefully we see that going up as soon as Dixon Place is finished (probably September/October).

That would be great! Then Sugar Alley and Dixon can block the ruin that is the Sugarmont from view.

Has The Hardison been paused? Even before the pandemic hit The Hardison was very slow moving and I remember someone saying they ran into financial issues. Doesn't appear work has been done on it for quite some time.

There were construction crews there today, so it seems it hasn't paused.

There are a couple of projects right now that seem to be moving at a snails pace, and I wonder if construction crews are pretty thin because of the demand. And I expect there are Covid restrictions as well. I'm just glad they're progressing at all, given the state of things.

An interesting article in todays New York Times about Tower 8.

It states that Tower 8 is already 80% pre-leased.

Does anybody out there know who some of the tenants will be???

/\/\/\ Wow. 80% leased! Time to get another office tower in the works. All the other tower proposals are residential. Oh wait, there is 650 Main? The twin 10-story mid-rise proposal. What's the status on that?

Is this the article? https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/02/b...ce-towers.html

Thought this was a neat shot of the Cottonwood Broadway foundation work moving forward and The Exchange nearly topped out in the background.

Here is the applicable quote:

"A 24-story Class A tower developed by City Creek Reserve, the development arm of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is scheduled for completion next year. The building, which will have 589,945 square feet of office space, is already 80 percent leased."

598,945 square feet makes it the second largest office tower in the city by floor area, correct? After the COB, of course, which is 800,000+ sq. ft.

Great images of the skyline and cranes from user gusam26 on the subreddit:

CCH cranes going up!
