^Herm... I took this picture cause I thought these signs were confusing, but I don't see anything ironic... What did you see?

Here's what I see : the street's name signs once were bilingual. The city blackened the english word "avenue" only to print them again later -this time in a smaller size than french as the linguistic laws allow it.
