New issue for anyone interested. Appears the different window shades have to do with energy consumption. Units at the "skinny" wastes of the tower heat up faster than the units in the broader "shoulders." Therefore, darker glass was used as the floors got smaller to block heat. Also, the hues for the windows were reportedly custom created for Vista and not found on any other building in the world!

I was giving the hermano a tour around the city yesterday, and snapped some pictures.

Include him in some of the shots - always makes the photo more interesting.

Great shots BonoboZill4. Looks like some of the lower open floors are finally getting enclosed. I can't remember who said it first here but the pace of the glass install is def picking up. I can't wait for the facade over the front entrance to start to take shape.

Happy Holidays All!

They are going for silver certification

For sure and this is the most phenomenal iconic tower to hit Chicago since Trump Tower (it is sexy how it goes from rather thick to thin and almost looks like its trying to dance)-love it!!

well maybe but you could put anything in that hodgepodge of a skyline and claim it belongs. and on second thought i respectfully disagree i think the vista is extremely chicago, inspired by the gentle movement of lake michigan herself. It looks as impressive as it does because they are working with a chinese size budget

Not to rain on your parade but this was actually brought up waaaaay back when Gang first displayed the design during a public meeting in 2015. I seem to remember a conversation around the time about whether or not the variation in glass was really functional or if heat gain was just an after the fact rationale for something that looks cool.

^^^ Lemme brag for a min... Thanks RLW...

Also y'all remember when I drew this bad boy from a description (who was that who saw it again?)? Not to brag, but Gang certainly did a better job with this than my sketch indicated lol.

Also I know everyone here is hoping for OCS to start as our Xmas gift, but this building and this entire boom has been more than enough for me! Let's hope this next credit cycle is mild and rampant skyscraper construction and vacant lot slaying continues unabated!

Merry Christmas SSP!

This is coming out great. It has a profound impact on the skyline. Doesn't look out of place either. Gang Architects succeeded in capturing the modern vision of Chicago.

Looking at it a little more-yes the Lake and River seemed to inspire the design-thanks cozy.

...while also building upon the "curvy" theme of the Aqua Tower, which is almost right next door and was also designed by Gang Architects. As more and more windows are installed, I appreciate Vista's curves more.

Yeah I love that! I wouldn't mind seeing what some other architects can do with this curvy theme in Chicago. Adding to the amazing mix of architecture throughout the city, contrasting with the tubular rectangle buildings like Sears and Aon
