The busy intersection of Pearl Street and Woodall Rodgers Freeway is Dallas’ new corner of Main and Main streets.

Landmarks including Klyde Warren Park, the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Meyerson Symphony Center and Museum Tower vie for attention on this streetscape wedged between Uptown and downtown.

And then there’s the northwest corner – a motor bank.

Perched on what’s no doubt one of the most expensive plots in Texas is Chase Bank’s drive through.

Back in 1982 when the motor bank was built Woodall Rodgers was still a canyon and all those other corners were empty.

Now it’s one of the sexiest crossroads in the county.

So I can understand why the folks at Chase Bank have decided to look at peddling the prime property.

The bank is talking to brokers about listing the more than 1.5-acre tract for sale to developers.

The property is considered to be one of the best high-rise development sites in town. And it’s likely to fetch more than $150 per square foot.

Chase Bank is likely to work the deal so it can have a drive in back on the lower level of a tower built on the property.
