World Trade Center Chronicles: I compiled 27 of my videos made over 4 Years into a single clip show that shows how the tower came to dominate the skyline.

So damn futuristic, without trying too hard to look futuristic.

I miss the old towers because they remind me of a simpler, more innocent and more prosperous geopolitical time. So I smile and feel nostalgic and safe when I think about them or see them in old pictures. But I don't miss them because I thought they were aesthetically beautiful. Strictly speaking in terms of architectural aesthetics, the only thing I really liked about the old WTC was the dual aspect of having two of them. That was very unique, and I wish the new WTC had a twin. But that aside, I greatly prefer the new WTC. It's not the best skyscraper in the world, or even the best in New York (that will always be Chrysler as long as it stands), but I do prefer its' striking angles and beautiful modern glass to the plain, utilitarian, grey long-box look of the old towers.

Hi all,

This is brand new ID swipe for WTC workers. You swipe the ID badge, you go to elevator and they will go up. Whatever where you want go. They will tell you where the elevator go. You swipe the badge, but there is no buttons. It is brand new technology.

This is for WTC business only.

Even with the undecorated spire, 1WTC is simply magnificent. Simple designs may not immediately reveal their value, but they do in time.

The WTC towers are way to bulky to ever be out-shined by a slim tower, such as 125 Greenwich. Height alone does not always mean dominance.

Imagine the value revealed in time had the spire been built as planned.

The WTC towers are not the bulkiest buildings downtown, yet the height is what gives the Freedom Tower the advantage of being the most dominant. (You can throw in the 400 ft spire as well,
thin though it may be). Even if you disagree with a thinner tower challenging the Freedom Tower for dominance, it does that by default anyway, by erasing the way it towers over everything else.
As the other WTC towers begin to fill out, that will come more into play, especially with tower 2.

One of the many reasons I really dislike 432. Oh well, it is what it is.

It's astounding that the ESB was the tallest building in the city just a handful of years ago (post 9/11 of course) and now there's so many quickly rising skyscrapers; some of which are quite stunning like the Bank of America tower, the Beekman and 4 WTC, and others like 432 (and One 57 if you ask me) that are just ugly long weeds in an otherwise beautiful garden.

So it's a mixed bag. I'm excited to see the skyline in the 2020's and 2030's, but not if the Chrysler and other great buildings are hidden from view.

But where are they located now, since it obviously can't be the original footprints anymore?

These, on the other hand, are just kinda creepy...

^ Nothing at all creepy about that photo. It's just your imagination.

Once located in the vacant Lot 26 on the West Side Highway that now is home to Goldman Sachs, the tribute now beams straight from the roof of the Battery Parking Garage on Morris St.

It's called destination dispatch. Many office buildings have been using the system for years, I've even seen a few hotels that use it too. I believe all towers at the WTC will utilize it.
