Election 2020? This thread isn't very timely, the next election is less than six months away now, on October 19th, 2024.

Key Dates:
Pre-campaign period begins
July 23, 2024

Writ Day (election is called)
Campaign period begins
September 21, 2024

Candidate nominations close at 1 p.m. (Pacific time)
September 28, 2024

Online and telephone voter registration closes at midnight
October 7, 2024

Advance voting
October 10-13, 15-16, 2024

Final Voting Day
October 19, 2024

Final count
Between October 26 and 28, 2024 (to be confirmed)

Return Day
November 2, 2024

Deadline to file election financing reports
January 17, 2025

It will be interesting to see how much support Rustad & Co lose as people start taking a closer look. Stuff I've seen him doing in the last couple weeks: hobnobbing with book-banners and anti-vaxxers. That will turn off a lot of moderate voters.

On the other hand, the BC Conservative Party has the same name as a popular federal party and BC United no longer does. This matters for some reason.

Yes, it's hard to underestimate the intelligence of the typical voter.
