It's Del Frisco's Grille. A cheaper and more casual version. And somewhat less emphasis on steak and more variety. I think it's a good choice for that spot on Broad.

When I walked by today, it looked likethe skin was coming off the adjoining red brick building. So, it looks like they may be cladding the lowrises to match the hotel, notwithstanding more recent renders. I think that's a plus.

The Philadelphia Cambria Hotel will finally open nearly two years since it broke ground, adding 223 more hotel rooms to Center City's inventory.

The 15-story, 223-room boutique hotel and flagship Cambria Hotel at 219 S. Broad St. will open in late March, DAS Architects announced Thursday. Pearl Properties developed the hotel, and DAS Architects designed it.

The article showed one pic of the inside restaurant lounge area. I like the design. Many have remarked that the outside is VEed, but I think a lot of the new builds, the inside should get very high marks for attention to details and design factors.

It's an interior render, not a picture. We'll see what it actually looks like. Hopefully it does turn out well.

Not splitting hairs at all. In case you haven't noticed, reality often falls far short of the renders... Much like the exterior of this building, for example.

I noticed. Some renders suck and don't portray reality, but other renders, depending on the software and computer processing power, gets pretty close if not into reality. There's examples of both. Just depends what gets used and who the user is and what the user is willing to pay to get the service and quality of renderings.

BTW...they VE'd this to get the pretty sidewalks...

It's not that... Well, it can be but often isn't. The issue is more whether the developer actually builds to the render. Technology and expense aside, most buildings don't math the renders because they are value-engineered, materials change, or the renders are purposely idealized.

Agreed. I don't put too much stock into renders. It only helps from a conceptualizing standpoint when architects and developers need to show what they are talking about. Ultimately, seeing it in a render or picture is no substitute for seeing how the building actually looks when its fully built.

Rooftop Restaurant Attico Is All About the Views

The new Cambria hotel at Broad and Locust is about to open. Philadelphians will have to wait until fall for the hotel’s Del Frisco’s Grille at street level, but several stories up a rooftop restaurant should be ready for diners next month. Attico (219 S. Broad Street) is going for a late April opening, with chef Tony Sindaco on board.

Attico is big, at about 4,000 square feet counting the outdoor space, and will seat around 140. About a third of those seats are outside, where diners (or drinkers) can soak up the views to the south and east at tables or in a lounge area.
