For reference: http://philly.curbed.com/archives/20...lous-hotel.php

Someone definitely keeps up with the building, though. Every time I see graffiti on there, within a few days it's covered up. Maybe they're trying to sell it? It is a damn shame that it can't get going.

What's going on with the Boyd Theater. I hear it is threatened with demolition. What is LiveNation's involvement with the theater???

Sadly no. The original facade was straight up awesome when built in 1887, but by 1909 was already altered heavily. Also, it was considered one of THE ugliest atrocities in Philadelphia when it was first built. You can read the whole story here:

HAHA on street level at least, the tags on the roof upper windows and roof are at least a decade old now.

The most I can find is city violations:

Well, I mean, yes. I walk by there at least every week. I seldom fly by the roof.

If it's the city acting, they're super fast and frequently out. I just can't imagine someone's calling multiple times a month. Unless the Hale has a secret savior out there...

What street is this on? I know a RFP for construction bids for 12-14 floor building went out last week for that area. Not sure what has been made public though.

That's 2nd & New looking southbound (SW corner). Parking lot to the north is the Gulf Station. Looks great. Hopefully it happens.

There is a zoning notice posted on site. This is on second street. Would REALLY like to see this happen. Would like to see more buildings this size in the area. Great news!

Great design--good density and a nice tip of the hat to the area's industrial past.

Thanks, the one that I was talking about is on the south side of the bridge on 3rd.

^^^^^I really like that too. It was a bit confusing at first. making 2nd Street 2 way?
That's what threw me off. I like how they kept 2 Liberty Place in their proper position, not like some other renderings..

This looks like GTA: Philadelphia (which I would totally play).

Actually. This rendering puts two Liberty Place at like 10th and Spruce.

Nope, you're incorrect. They placed PSFS(Lowe's) in front of 2 Liberty. PSFS is at 12th Street. So it can't be 10th. This is silly, I'm not picking an argument I do like the rendering though. It's nice to keep some of the older structures design look, and preserve the adjoining buildings. This reminds me of 2424 York Street in Fishtown. (kinda)

They jumbled all the building together. This is 2nd and New Street in Old City. From this view, you wouldn't be able to see the PSFS Building, let alone the Liberty Places or BNY Mellon

LOL! I know. I love how they made Aramark much taller than PSFS! I hope their project doesn't become jumbled.

So another thing has sprouted out of the Dilworth Plaza construction, on the south side border with South Penn Square. I was in way too early this morning and took this picture. (Also, oh hay, family court building.)
