So is the outdoor pool deck for this tower going to be at the same level as the public area and separated by a fence?

^^ You would think with 150 N riverside and Riverpoint both filling up quickly that the South tower would get started sooner than later. Feel like were due for another large commercial tower to get started.

I asked someone recently from the alderman office about the next WP tower, and they had no info at the moment. I don't even know if Hines has the programming set yet for the next phase. Before construction can even start, there will have to be another community meeting and then the project will once again go before plan commission. We're at least another two years off before we see movement on the next portion.

Do not expect the South Tower to have an office component. It likely will not.

^^ Thanks for the info. I'm not sure why I had it in my head that the South tower was programmed for commercial... but it seems like that would make the most sense and then have the east tower be mixed use residential/hotel. Anyways... I really hope we don't have to wait two years for the next phase to get started... that site is so prime it will be an itch in my mind that won't have relief until we see a crane there.

"Tom, we've found dramatic cost savings in going with that balcony glass supplier from China!"

"China? Aren't you worried they'll F up the order?"

"It's just balcony glass. 3,000 units. All identical. They can't possibly F it up."

..1 week later..

"Tom, they F'd it up."

And the money these owners save on Chinese glass buys them lots of aspirin. It's tough bidding these jobs in Chicago these days.
