Need help on how to convert my diagram to 1:1 scale and make it look OK.

Hi all,

My first experience in drawing diagrams. It took me 2 days to have a decent result. Please forgive me if I ask stupid questions or if my diagram doesn't look good. I think it's ok for a first try. I have drawn my hometown tallest skyscraper. The problem is that i'ts a small skyscraper, about 52 metres tall and I need to reduce it in order to fit with SSP rules. I have done my original drawing on a 4:1 scale and i think it actually looks not that bad for a first try, but now the problem i am having is it look terrible when i am resizing it to it's real size 1 pixel : 1 metre.

Any advices would be greatly appreciated. Here it is :

Maybe zooming out and then doing a printscreen? That works better for zooming in for some things, but I'm not sure about zooming out.

After you resize it, do a sharpening effect on it.

What software are you using?

Also, to give it more realistic pop, consider dropping some subtle shadows on the balconies, awnings etc...

You are right Tony, I should have tried to use some shadows to make it look more realistic, i appreciate your comment. I will try to improve this on my future drawings.

Another forumer suggested i should user free paint.net.

He re-edited the same original image and here is his result :

I know the building and diagram is small so you don't see much details on it but i think it look sharper than my previous result and I like it a bit more.

I have a lot to learn, this is fun.

Problems with resizing is exactly the reason why I try to do 1:1 drawings only. The sharpening effect rarely helps. (I use Adobe Photoshop CS4)

A nice drawing digitboy! Especially if it's your first try. Just remember to watermark your 4:1 original before you post it in the forums.

Sharpening can be a delicate affair. Pretty much all of the time I can get something decent. You just got to play around with the percentage.

The vast majority of my drawings are 2:1 with a few 4:1's. Never any 1:1
