Beautiful shot. The tower will form a nice isolated silhouette from that angle.

^^^ How safe is the area around that memorial and Exchange Place at night? I'll be staying at the Millennium Hilton in July, so I'd be able to easily hop on the PATH and head over for a bit.

And I think it goes without saying, but fantastic pictures.

Is that the new Brooklyn Arena going up in the right of the shot?

I love this view!

You'll be robbed, then chopped up into pieces and stuffed into a garbage bag.

Folks, we should take now as many pics of 1WTC as possible, cause when it's opened it'll probably never again be so awesomely lit as it is with the construction lights.

Don't even think about it. That memorial area is a very active hot spot for the mob. If they see you on their turf, they'll likely take you out and bury you in the river.

you'll probably be safer there than where you're coming from

As long as it's still going up, we may as well start stepping up the photography, for sure. Long as the construction process seems to last, it will be nicer to have pictures of this when it opens. Your info about the mafia is on par, didn't know they were still active but obviously that's a historic connection... Life around that area back in the day was mafia-central, so i've been told...

I'd say the safest area is the Battery Park City. The World Financial Center offers everything you can imagine. Everything's high tech and clean, and you can get a great view of the Hudson River and the WTC site from the WFC Winter Garden.

Crime rates in the city are the lowest since the 1960s, even with more people today than then, and NYC in general is one of the safest metropolitan cities in the world.

The OP's question was about Jersey City, not Battery Park City or Manhattan.

Waterfront JC is safe at night but very quiet and boring. In some ways, just like BPC.

I didn't mean to cause a derail. I've been to NYC before, but I've never bothered to go to NJ. That is why I asked about the waterfront.

Thanks for the jokes/answers, though. Looks like I will head over there.
