Still probably not in the top 50 yet.

Since when did the US not have a lot of buildings over 775 feet? Almost every major American city has several or more that tall.

Since always. No US city besides NYC and Chicago have many buildings over 775 ft.

Houston has 6, Minneapolis has 3, Charlotte has 2 and Pittsburgh and Cleveland each have 1. I count around 67 in the country that are least topped out being taller but 432 Park is getting there.

It's interesting that New York's number will jump closer to 40 with current development.
That puts into perspective how much the current boom will alter the skyline.

I count 22 currently, but whatever. Yeah, the number will probably nearly double over the next few years, assuming no big economic problems.

My only point was that buildings of the current 432 Park height are not that common, even in major cities with large skylines. Even Hong Kong has only 16 or 17, Tokyo has 6, etc.

Not even close (depending on your definition of several of course):

Building at least 775' in US (Built/Construction - Not on hold):
New York - 28
Los Angeles - 3
Chicago - 15
Dallas - 3
Houston - 6
Philadelphia - 4
Washington - 0
Miami - 1
Atlanta - 4
Boston - 2
San Francisco - 3
Phoenix - 0
Detroit - 0
Seattle - 2
Minneapolis - 3
San Diego - 0
Tampa - 0
St. Louis - 0
Baltimore - 0
Denver - 0
Pittsburgh - 1
Charlotte - 2
Portland - 0
San Antonio - 0
Orlando - 0
Sacramento - 0
Cincinnati - 0
Cleveland - 1
Kansas City - 0

Other US Cities with buildings over 775':
Indianapolis - 1
Oklahoma City - 1

I know that many of the cities listed above are not necessarily "Major Cities", but even among the Major Cities; they don't all have several or more.

It is kind of a silly argument anyways: comparing current construction height to buildings that are at least 775'. The comparison should be final height to other 1000-footers. There are only 5 Us Cities with 1000-footers

New York - 8*
Chicago - 5*
Los Angeles - 2
Houston - 1
Atlanta - 1*

*contains buildings with significant spires to push them over 1000'

Of those 17 structures, 432 Park Ave will tower over all of them except two: One World Trade Center and Willis Tower.

Why are only Indianapolis and Oklahoma City considered "other cities"? They're bigger than multiple cities on the above list, with better skylines as well.

Except you missed, Houston, Minneapolis, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Vegas, Oklahoma City etc...

By the end of the decade at least 8 American cities will have supertalls, how many countries can say that? You have it pretty good.

The issue was you said "many"; like it's common to have 800+ foot towers all over the place. It isn't even that common in NYC.

By world standards that is "many"

Most countries don't have any 800 foot buildings.

NYC within the next couple years will have at least 25-30 buildings over the 800 foot range.

Shanghai does not have that many 800 footers or has about the same amount so what are you comparing it to that's what I'm wondering?

All I'm saying is that nowhere on earth are 800-foot buildings all over the place. Not even in NYC, Shanghai and the like.

In most major U.S. cities there's maybe one or two such buildings, at most.

Yes agreed back on topic!

They are currently pouring the core so may see that jump tomorrow or the following day worst case.

As well the other crane is now being removed, as we suspected once it reached this level there is no longer a need for it.

The core was jumped up to 806' this morning. The roof crane will handle it from here to the top.

The core was poured on Saturday, and the core form raised yesterday. I believe the floor slab was poured yesterday. On Friday, it appeared the perimeter beams were poured, and column rebar placed Saturday. Yesterday morning, the exterior climbing forms were raised, and judging by the angle of the concrete placing boom, it appeared to me, that it was the floor slab being poured. With the exterior forms having been raised, the floor slab was hidden from view. It is now getting more difficult to determine what exactly is being poured, as the building is becoming more level with the vantage point of the cameras. With continued growth, very soon, it will be increasingly difficult to determine when actual floor plates will be poured.

My updated drawing as of yesterday.

If I am correct in my observations, the current floor level is floor 46 (51 apparent floor)

We are on 50 not 51 for the perimeter. I counted from ground level with the pictures that have been posted. The future 50th perimeter beam above the ground is where the top of the formwork is and apparent level 50 is below that.

sw5710,

I stand corrected!! I made a mistake in the floor count. Thanks for the correction. It's getting tricky keeping on track.
