The cladding on the top of the building even looks better than the renderings!

“Skytop” At 15 Hudson Yards Will Be Tallest Residential Roof Deck In New York City

Quote:
As 15 Hudson Yards nears full completion, Related Companies and Oxford Properties Group have revealed a first glimpse of residential amenities for the new residential tower.

Located more than 900 feet above ground, “Skytop” is undeniably the crown jewel of the amenities suite and will eventually be the highest residential roof deck in New York City. The open-air roof deck will be enclosed in a 60-foot glass screen wall, and include an adjacent lounge, private catering kitchen, and dining room.

Additional amenities will occupy the building’s 50th and 51st floors. Wellness areas will include a 75-foot-long swimming pool, a whirlpool, private spa, beauty bar, and a fitness center. Elsewhere, residents will enjoy a private screening room, golf club lounge, temperature-controlled wine storage, a business center with dual conference rooms and co-working areas. A children’s playroom will also be available for growing families.

All together amenity areas measure a whopping 40,000 square feet.

Designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro with Rockwell Group and Ismael Leyva Architects, the 88-story building is expected to be fully complete next year. Remaining residences are priced from $3.9 million for a two-bedroom unit up to $32M for the final duplex penthouse.

This building is so fucking delicious I can’t take it!!!

New York is incredible. Nuts to me how this building doesn’t even garner much attention here, slow thread. It would totally transform my city.

Been to both The Shed Griffin theater and McCourt past few days (Norma Jean Baker of Troy & Bjork) - lobby is excellent, venues as well, very impressed. Escalator areas are uninspired though, like an afterthought.

The mall on the other hand - blech, could be any upscale suburb. At least it has a Muji.

Absolutely love the way The Shed interacts with the base of 15, though I would be pretty disappointed if I paid all that moolah for a pad and had to use the almost depressing residential entrance, from the lowest point of the site next to a service drive and 11th Av.

Overall though, I'd say there are a lot of missed opportunities at HY. I'm very mixed on the whole thing so far. Hoping that the completed Highline section will add some interest.

yep totally agree. i have been to the shed on opening day and for the richter reich thing. its pretty cool, but yes getting up and down inside it is not well done (same for up and down in the mall). we are going to bjork on the last night and to the dragon spring wuxa wire-fu thing in july. the mall is a generic upscale mall, albeit with fancy restaurants i guess and a ridiculous art space. muji and uniqlo is about all it can do for me.

You have a treat in store for you at Cornucopia - she puts on one helluva show!

Little Spain is pretty good place to go after show, was really the best part of the shops anyway.
