Oh FFS. They are not going to rebuild the old towers. Stop asking.

That would be the Fiterman Hall.

I just deleted a long and useless conversation about rebuilding the Twin Towers. This thread is not the place for it - there is a different thread for this in the Buildings and Architecture thread. Spammers will be dealt with accordingly. Mike900, I'm looking at you.

Seriously, literally pages and pages of the same recycled off-topic material... Jeez.

A lot of people are gonna need sunglasses to look at this thing on a *partly cloudy* day.

The one thing that every hi-definition rendering and photo of this tower has been simply unable to reproduce is how sunlight and facade achieve perfect communion with each other.

I'm really happy with how the reflective surface relates to the trees below - at least so far. Hopefully the base cladding will be equally or even more effective. I know they've had to scrap their original plans for it. My thought is they should avoid over-complexity: The best background for the trees is simplicity. Of course, the base has four sides, so there are more aesthetic factors to take into account. I'm hoping the best of all angles to look at the tower will be from inside the Memorial grounds. Anyway, so far so good.

The sun reflection in 1WTC's already clad facade is awesome. That building is gonna be a mirror on sunny days

That is the sweetest WTC 1 photo location I have seen yet. Its going to tower over lower Manhattan from that angle.

WOAH! I don't know what's more impressive: the sheer presence of the FT from the Jersey side, or that powerfully emotive Katyn memorial. Too bad so many can graduate High School these days without the foggiest what that was all about.

Back to the FT: ALREADY the NYC skyline is recapturing the power it lost on 9/11 with the collapse of the old towers. Imagine it once all four new towers are standing!
