Will that east side be two-toned? Or will the whole back be white? This one has gone through a lot of colors on their finishing system. Seems like it was Densglass, then black asphalt emulsion, then grey EIFS, stucco, primer?, now white. A lot of labor for a shitty end product.

Certainly looks better than the Hyatt Place.

They better put a huge Westin logo on all four sides lest it be mistaken for a county jail or court house.

I'm sure the white is just more primer. Other than that, I like the subdued blue and silver color. The renovation they did on the Perry-Brooks office building looks really good and modern, and I think this will be similar once it's complete.

Also it looks to have a dining hall with that row of windows on the top floor. I'm sure the views will be nice up there, plus that window on the corner of the building is surely a hallway. Not to mention it has a rooftop deck where the pool is.

They're building it for the next 1000 years. No moisture will penetrate that cladding!

Gotta agree. Even the supposedly nice sides don't look good.

I'm guessing some of those layers were sound proofing?

Those two parking lots at the southeast corner of San Jacinto and 7th have no current project proposals and are unencumbered by CVCs.

Even a simular sized building as the Westin would be a cool bookend with the 6th St. row bars in between. And boy, I sure hope the Westin starts getting pretty, cause right now it looks like one ugly baby.

The West side is more of less done now. It would be nice if they would at least paint similar stripe patterns on the blank North and East ends.

I'd rather see them paint fake windows.

Lol. Maybe ugly aluminum cladding is in high demand right now.

Yeah, and unfortunately buildings don't often get prettier with age...they either start that way or they don't.

Signage is up and it's starting to look more finished although the North and East ends are still ugly.

This building reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry's girlfriend looks good from certain angles and in certain light, and then not so good from other angles and in different light.

The north side is kind of criminal. That mostly blank wall just smacks you in the eye when walking or driving down the slope on San Jacinto north of this hotel.
