Cool AUSTIN | Domain Tower | 181 FEET | 11 FLOORS | U/C

Might as well get a thread going on this one to keep tabs on it.

Sweet. I was really disappointed when TWELVE dropped their plan on constructing a 28-story TWELVE Hotel & Residences at the Domain. I guess an 11-story office building is a good consolation prize.

So it appears the office building and parking garage are separate structures. Not sure if this was already mentioned.

Yeah, it's too bad they couldn't have been stacked. Reduce the ground coverage because of the parking garage, conceal an unsightly structure (said parking garage) and hopefully save that land space for another structure that would have ground floor retail. It appears the office building won't have retail either. I now there's already a lot of retail in that area, but it sucks to have a dead space between all of it in two structures that will likely have a good bit of street frontage. And I also wish Austin would get over its fear of heights outside of downtown for this very reason.

Love the design of that building. Very prominent location. Nice to see the Domain district go more vertical. Though large, it's good that the parking garage is tucked in the back, away from major street frontage (Burnet/Braker).

I like it as well. It's slightly reminiscent of the IBC Bank building downtown.

The site plan was released for this. The elevations are files 074 and 075.

https://www.austintexas.gov/devrevie...erRSN=11340039

It's 181 feet to the highest roof.

Looks like this knocks out a whole parking lot for the last of the old IBM buildings. Does this mean that building is going away some day?

I hope some of these buildings up there have some decent accent lighting. It would be great to see an actual 2nd skyline take shape.

Well, we did once have a 28 story proposal for the Domain. Maybe we'll get something akin to that within the next few years on adjacent land.

Yeah...that was Novare Group's TWELVE Hotel & Residences proposal. It would have been right behind (to the east of) where the Westin-Austin Domain stands today.

Very nice! I was way up in Northwest Austin yesterday hugging the Williamson County border and noticed Domain 8 from up there. I had to pause for a few seconds to think of which building it was and then it dawned on me. That building is only 167 feet tall, so with the Domain Tower plus Domain 10, 11 and 12 they'll definitely create a mini skyline up there.
