I actually don't mind the black. It adds a depth of intimacy to the project... makes it more pixelated too, which is part of what I love about this building. However, it's not set in stone that they changed the colouring to black, it could still be white and all this black is just a gimmick for the purposes of this render.

I don't mind the black either. Of course I didn't mind the white, but one thing the black will do is give it a sleeker look imo. I can only imagine what this tower will look like on a gray raining day...pretty slick.

Man, have we ever been spoiled here in Calgary with consecutive short cycles with new 1st and 3rd tallests under construction simultaneously (Bow, Eighth Ave Place I and now Brookfield and Telus)

Demolition of Art Central is scheduled to begin in July. So formal excavation will probably start... I dunno, October? Though Art Central does have one retail floor below grade so that might be considered excavation when they demolish that?

It's pretty amazing that by 2017, our 4 tallest will all be over 700 feet. That is incredible for a city with our population. Just having 7 buildings over 200 meters (including the spires of Bankers Hall for Homerism sake) is quite the achievement for this backwater prairie cowtown . Maybe even 8, if Kings on Fourth gets going.

I am really impressed by Calgary because we always see a sophisticated project coming from Calgary.

this is probably the most anticipated building in Calgary. I wonder what's the condo price in that one.

No unit pricing, as they are all going to be rental suites. Now one would be very interested to know what kind of monthly rent they will go for.

Glad to see rentals in a "High-End" building like this one! The rents will probably out of reach for most folks though.

Ah i see, just a random guess, most of the renters would be international students with rich parents or energy sector management employees

Have we seen a detailed site plan of Telus Sky yet? I would love to know how many levels of underground parking they are excavating. Just so that we can have a ballpark estimate of how long the excavation will take. It's a fairly small site (1/6 of a city block) compared to Brookfield Place, so I imagine the period from domilition to concrete pour will be a year or less.

So not to get people too excited (TallBob) but the model shows a tower 60 to 62 floors high...
