this is a dated aerial of Boise, Idaho... probably from 2014 or 2015.

many of the surface parking lots in this shot have been developed or have buildings under construction right now, so a photo from this same vantage point later this year will look quite a bit different.

here are some more recent shots of the downtown core from Shutter stock:

I recently bought a drone and am still learning how to use it. Here's the first pseudo-urban photo I took with it earlier today. I say "pseudo-urban" because "pseudo" is about as "urban" as you're going to get in San Antonio.

Nice shot, just be careful and do your research on when and where you can use a drone. A lot of drone photos of skylines are taken illegally.

Thanks! Yeah, I’ve got several apps to help me keep my flights legal. San Antonio is a military town, which means there’s a lot of restricted airspace. Plus the airport is close-in. I live in 0-foot restricted airspace. My drone will not even take off in my yard. In other areas where airspace is restricted it’s still pretty easy to get automatic authorization to fly below a certain altitude. This spot in the photo is totally free of restrictions (other than the general 400-foot height limit), though there’s a hospital helipad just two blocks away and my drone definitely told me when a helicopter came into land.

it's getting there, for sure, but there's still plenty of opportunity.

as those photos show, there are quite a few surface parking lots that are ripe for new development, especially on the west side. the east side right now is getting the bulk of new construction, mostly residential.
