photo and rendering

The photo is of the observation lower lobby. The rendering is the East Connector one level below and south of the observation lower lobby.

Last edited by lugdus; Apr 12, 2014 at 6:16 PM. Reason: I am wrong, it is an early rendering of the observation deck lower lobby

Is that supposed to be a shaft of natural light? If so, something is missing.

^^ The plans for that was scrapped after Durst became in-charge of building, saying "It would be impossible to build it."

The photo and rendering are of the Observation Deck lobby on the B2 level. Only difference is this render was from 2006. A post from Otie a while back.

I like the images of the interior public space - looks like it'll be spectacular once all said and done.

I think it's definitely safe to say that 1 WTC turned out to be much better than the recent renderings.

I wouldn't say that. We all believe the antenna looks better when lit at night (it isn't in the render). On the other hand, in the renderings, the mechanical space is lit,
which it isn't yet at this point. But it's pretty much as advertised.

It's images like this that show how amazingly well 1 WTC fits into the Manhattan skyline. But the best is yet to come...
