Alberta now has a decent-sized diagram for cities other than Calgary and Edmonton.

23 drawings and counting.

The Quality Hotel in the west end of Grande Prairie should be included in that diagram. It's located on the service road just south of Richmond Ave (100 Ave) and west of 112 St in the north edge of the west side industrial area. That hotel is about 10 storeys tall and was called the Golden Inn when it went up.

Here's a (crappy!) pic of that hotel:

I'm glad to see that the Prairie Sunrise apartment tower's on there, though. Goes to show that 214 Place (the black office tower in GP's DT core) isn't the only highrise that GP has.

It is included in the database, it just doesn't have a diagram. I haven't made one for it yet.

All right, I understand now. I didn't realize until now that there's two pages in there, not one.

BTW, I like how you included the dinosaur model from Drumheller in the diagram!

Lol yeah it's good. That wasn't me that drew it though. It was Kelvin Fields. Each drawn structure has the name of the illustrator in the information section directly under each entry.

At the bottom of the page, you can also search diagrams for any city or country in the world that has entered buildings. From Antananarivo to Zagreb.

There are no more high rises in Red Deer. The only one missing from Red Deer is Checkmate Court.

i should try take some pics lots of stuff going on towards the west/airport area

wetgate phase II is opened with urban barn, justice/some boys store (US chain), la senze, gap factory store , old navy, town shoes

there is a phase III planned, from the plans it looks like one big box store - perhaps a marshalls?

the hospital is coming along, lots of new housing, the south side of the city is also seeing some building, across from that big college or whatever it is is a new housing development with huge houses and next door is a retail area, and a harveys restaurant is the first thing to be built there - its the second harveys location in gp

That "big college" on the north side of 68 Ave east of Wapiti Road/Hwy 40 you're referring to is *not* a college, but rather a large rec centre complex flanked by two high schools (one public and one Catholic).

I'm a little surprised at how long that part of GP across 68 Ave from that complex has taken to even get started developing, considering how fast GP's been growing.

Red Deer is developing a sort of metro these days with the new BOLT system, connecting Lacombe, Blackfalds and Red Deer with Red Deer municipal buses. Both Blackfalds and Lacombe have been growing quite a bit the last few years, Blackfalds will soon eclipse Lacombe it's growing so fast.

What do people think of this proposal to build a gondola, casino and convention centre in Canmore? I think it's a good idea and will help Canmore out, though I do understand the concerns of some locals...
