"Architects, Developers, Engineers and Financiers Without Borders" should descend pronto and assist in preserving this jewel.

I believe both UNESCO and Spain have been pouring money into Old Havana. Since my first visit 6 years ago, the restorations and improvements have been staggering and are now extending into neighbouring Central Havana and Vedado. Even just a coat of paint can work wonders though I'm not sure that interior renovations have kept pace. Nonetheless, there are some amazingly well maintained historic interior spaces in the hotels and restaurants. Vedado, which is a residential neighbourhood west of Old & Central Havana, has a ton of Art Deco which badly needs some TLC.
