Pic from last night. It looks like lighting is going to be installed along the top.

From today.

I thought the parking garage levels were going to be clad in black and white stripes, but it looks like what I thought was black is just untreated metal. It's already rusting, not sure how I feel about this look.

I sure hope the future residents shut down that awful "rio" bar. So. Tacky.

I think we got room for a few "tacky" places downtown.

Oooooo you know something we don't about how the building will be lit? The outline of the roof huh?? Will the lighting change color or be a boring solid color???

That is one thing I really wish 311 Bowie's lighting would do is change color or at least have the option to do so. Just looking at the light itself and how bright and white it is, I do not think that it was designed with multiple color options but maybe it will surprise us.

SkyPie's post above seemed to show some "ring lights" around the top.

One building I'm hoping uses ring lights like that is The Catherine. i think the effect could be interesting because of the shape of the building. You could stand on one end of it and see the light snaking around on the other side.

Seven looks too diminutive for its design, and not impressive enough to earn an uppity-trendoid name like Seven. It looks like a children's version of itself, it's like a child of about age 7. Ohhh, OK now I see it!

Oh I see it now. For some reason I missed that.

I think it's an appropriately sized building for the neighborhood it is in. If this were in a more prominent location, I'd be a bit more critical.

agreed. It's actually nicly proportioned.
And... yeah... it's going to be interesting to see what happens with all those roof top bars when those apartments open.!

Yeah, it is just so close it's hard to imagine someone not complaining. Glad it's not a well regarded music venue.

I really like the contrast between the northeast side and the old mansions over there. It has a real cozy feeling to it. Does anyone know if seven will have retail?

I think it's one of the nicest unique buildings we have like the Monarch. Not a box. Good for them. And the size is good for the area.

Agreed. I like this building. The articulations along the south/southeast faces are somehow better than just a bulky "box" design. The CVCs dictating these long diagonal faces across building sites, like Fifth & West, are ironically making things more interesting.
