Still Lifting Spirits.

but seriously folks, they are going with just the address, 311 Broad, for the name as of now, until they can come up with a better one.

I took a long hard look at the latest renderings and it turns out Dranoff is sticking with the SLS moniker.

The concept has changed a bit though. It’s now a one story swingers club called the SLS, for Super Loose Singles. It’s an 18 foot tall building with no windows and parking in the rear.

Slowest, Loneliest, Skyscraper thread?

Page 23 of this thread, I made mention that there were 23 pages of "nothing yet", and now it has grown to 50 pages?

Wow, that's lots of optimism or maybe arguments & complaints?

What really is happening:

Amazon has reserved this site to build a 200 story Headquarters here!

Yeah, sure

Not sure if this is general commentary or not but there has been a big update in recent weeks where have multiple inside sources saying that this revised (hotel-less) proposal is a go and should be moving forward shortly.

Moving forward shortly.....

I'm sure that your information is legit.
But I can't help but feel, "I'll believe it when I see it" is what I'm having now attitude.
Sorry, but I'm sure if you do a page by page search on this thread, I bet you a soft pretzel that "moving forward shortly" may show up at least once, or something similar to that effect.

Let's hope that this thread doesn't go 100 pages of anyday now, anyday now..

It's one of the most valuable and high-profile properties in the region, why would it ever die?

I was being facetious. Of course something will get built here, I was more commenting on how long it has taken (this thread is almost 6 years old!)

Just saying, one of my predictions on Jan 1 was that we'd see something from this by the end of the year.

Is it supposed to be all condo? Or mix of condo and apartments?

As of last July it was condos, but things keeps changing with this project to it's still up in the air as far as I'm concerned.

I'm wondering if funding/financing of the project is secured yet or where in the process? That will certainly determine if shovels hit the ground or not.

I assume if they applied for another permit that they can't have regressed at all. One Ardmore is leasing now and I'm sure he's making money off of that that he can funnel into SLS.

It's been stated in articles that he wants to use the proceeds from the sale of his properties to the out of town real estate firm to fund SLS and other projects. Apparently that sale will finalize soon.

I'm pretty sure this already closed last year. AIMCO has been managing 777 Broad, Locust on the Park etc for at least 6 months.
