You can also see Place du Portage phase IV under construction in the background.

Weird. Looks like Brooke-Claxton lower floors are concrete and upper floors steel framed.

Second and third with over 2.4 million square feet of space under construction (255 Albert, C.D. Howe, Sunlife I, Bank of Canada, Teron office tower attached to old Delta). Also have the Queen Elizabeth apartment building.

Noticed that the Bank of Canada's east tower seems half the size on that second pic. Is that right? The rear central part also seems thin.

great find drawarc!

Sure it is. It's the Confederation Building, as seen from the rear. Next to it is the Justice Building.

Huh... cool! Different seeing the building "wings"/layout from the air.. Plus, got a big disoriented in the old construction picture and didn't realise this was Wellington. Thanks!

The Highlands was built in an old quarry and you can the see the outline of much of the quarry in that picture. Also, if you look carefully in the far left of the picture, you can see the old St. Laurent Boulevard right of way, which used to have curve to the west to go around the quarry and associated rock outcrop.

I noticed a few odd things around the perimeter of the Highland's land, but I had no idea we once had a quarry and St-Laurent curved. Pretty cool tidbit.
